DRIVEcraft Started nearly 30 years ago by two brothers, Patrick and Colin they were trained at BSM (British School of Motoring).

They started DRIVEcraft because Patrick felt he could offer a more personal, in depth and enjoyable experience for his pupils.

DRIVEcraft is a small but caring school offering lessons to pupil in and around the Croydon area including Streatham, Penge, Furzedown, Balham, Norbury, Tooting, Mitcham, Clapham, Battersea.

Your Provisional Licence

A you will need to get your UK provisional driving licence if you haven't already done so. You can get a application form from your local post office then send it off with a passport type photograph and your passport or birth certificate (the application pack will contain guidance notes).

When you get back your provisional licence make sure you keep both parts safe (photocard and paper part licence). You will need to bring them with you on your first lesson. You will also need to show them together before you can take your theory and practical tests.

Your Full Driving Licence

You first must pass the theory test before you can take the practical driving test. The theory test is split into two parts which is computer based.

The first part is a multi-choice tests with 50 questions you have one hour to complete this test which gives you plenty of time. You will need to get 43 marks to pass.

The second part is a hazard perception test you will be harks to respond to 15 moving hazards presented during 14 one minute video clips you must score at least 44 points out of a possible 75 in order to pass.

Your Practical Driving Test

Comes the awaited big day. The test starts with the Examiner checking your provisional licence and a eyesight tests then he will arks you a show me/tell me vehicle safety questions before driving off on your driving test.

The test lasts for about 40-45 minutes the route is designed to test you on different aspects of your driving the Examiner will give you the result of your test when you return to the test centre at the end.

If you are successful in passing your test the Examiner will take your provisional from you and send it away on your behalf.

If you were unsuccessful this time and didn't pass, the Examiner will give you a brief explanation on what you failed on and the main points that requires more practice.

Your instructor will give you a full briefing on what will happen before and during the test he will prepare you not only for your physical readiness but psychologically as well.
